The Ice Storm of 2008!

Sometimes we know we are "living" through an event that has historical meaning! The December 11-12, 2008 New England ice storm was one of those! In addition to listening to those frightening cracks as the woods came down around our ears, many of us were without power and telephones for up to a week. The storm tested our ability to survive, help one another, and appreciate what life may have been like for those who lived here before us.

Some of us managed to be there with cameras, documenting the devastation, the beauty and the hard work. Thanks to the photographic skills of Deen Nugent, Ed Lewis, Kate Ewald, and Mari Hall, we are able to offer here some images that may help you remember or that you can share with those who weren't privileged enough to survive this remarkable event.

For more information about the storm and its aftermath, go to this Wikipedia link.
