What is Omeka?

Omeka is an organization that develops and distributes open source software for management of librarian databases. For information, visit the Omeka Web Site.

Continue on to the WHS Archive Omeka site. This site is experimental and is still in an alpha state.

The Worthington Historical Society is migrating its collections from its in-house developed database management system to the Omeka developed database management system. Both of these efforts are MySQL and PHP based.

Once in the Omeka Pages, it will be necessary to use your browser's back button or enter the WHS URL: http://www.worthingtonhistoricalsociety.org to return to the main site.

Rest assured that the WHS Web Site has been and will continue to be developed solely with free and open source (FOSS) software. The site pages are designed around the Firefox browser, no Microsoft-developed tools or other closed software is used on this site or in its development.
